http://www.vimeo.com/13603351Where to start, oh where to start about our family vacation to the fabulous  Tradewinds Resort on St Pete Beach in the fabulous Chevy Camaro. We spent seven nights and six days soaking up the sun and all the activities the Tradewinds has to offer. The first class treatment started with the bellmen ohhhing and ahhhing over the first class ride. I saw them secretly arguing over who was going to park the car. Then it was a surprise upgrade to the penthouse to accommodate our bed size requests!!! We couldn’t have felt more special and like rock stars! Everywhere we went staff said hello and how are you doing. My favorite spot to hang out and eat was the Flying Bridge Bar and Grill. Made friends with a few of the bartenders,  shout out to Kathy!

We spent several days at the beach playing in the Gulf which is more beautiful than ever and OIL FREE!!! We discovered that the baby prefers the waves over the pool and couldn’t keep him out of the sand! One day was dedicated to the high tide slide and even baby Bryce, at just 19-months-old couldn’t get enough of the action with mom. On another day we spent the entire day at the Island Grand pool which was closest to the KONK club because it had a great baby pool for those too little for the shallow end in the regular pool.

Alexis, our 8-year-old took advantage of the most the Tradewinds had to offer. She did several of the activities the KONK club has to offer; crazy hat making, American Idol night, Princess and Pirates party, a beach party.  KONK which stands for Kids Only No Kidding is the club that hosts all sorts of kids activities all day everyday so that mom and dad can get a little R&R or sit at the bar. She got her hair wrapped, played the hermit crab races and so much more!

Although, we didn’t have a need to drive the Camaro too much during the week because there was so much to do and all the food and drinks at several different restaurants on the property, the car did get a first class day pool side for the MomsLikeMe.com minute segment shoot on Wednesday. The Tradewinds staff helped clear a path back to one of the pools at the Island Grand. Again, I felt like a celebrity pulling a the car next to the pool where people were lounging and splashing around. We taped the segment with me standing in front of the car and starting out talking all about the Girlfriend Getaway Florida program. Thanks to the Tradewinds marketing team for taking the video.

Dining out was easy and we didn’t leave the resort once to eat somewhere else. We had Bermudas breakfast buffet twice and then once for dinner on a night when kids eat free! We had almost all our lunches at the Flying Bridge and then two other meals at Beef O Bradys. One other fun thing I did was visit every bar that the Tradewinds has for a Bar Crawl. You had a passport type book that you got stamped at each location and then you go home with an official Tradewinds Bar Crawl t-shirt! The bar crawl and Camaro inspired me to get a little frisky too! I’ll explain my next blog: Feeling Frisky in the Camaro! Get your mind out of the gutter people!
